What Has Social Media Taught Us?
What have we learned from social media? And how does it tie into pop culture? I think it's safe to say that almost everyone's lives are transformed because of social media. I think it's also safe to say that social media has left a deep footprint in pop culture. Looking back on my life without Facebook or Twitter (1991-2007), I would honestly say that my life wasn't too different. With that being said, I was at a very young part of my life before the emergence of big social media giants like Facebook and Twitter. What I'm saying is that I was born without social media, but in comparison to someone who's already born with social media, the things that we learn and experience might be different. These social networks have also caused a huge impact on the pop culture. If I could sum it up in one word, it would be communication. Social Media has taught the entire world to be more communicative. Not only can we voice our thoughts and views, but we can listen to what the entire world has to say. It's completely shaped the way how we gain and analyze information, keeping up with local and worldly news, and still being able to be closely connected with classmates, friends, and family. Social media has created just about the largest communication networking the world has ever seen. From a Pop Culture point of view, it's allowed us to search and listen to the things that really interest us. Before social media, there weren't as many ways to search for a popular topic or wanting to be able to listen to what someone says about a popular topic. It's now possible to achieve those things within seconds. Twitter allows us to follow the people and organizations we care about. Facebook allows us to organize our interests and finds out who also has similar interests. Pop culture icons use all sorts of social media to project their message, brand, thoughts, etc, and people love the. I personally love the instant access. Some people may complain that these social media networks aren't good for people, but I think otherwise. I'm someone who is all about facilitating communication, and I really can't think of a better way than social media networks. I've learned that these sights are extremely helpful, useful, and even entertaining. In conclusion, I believe that social media has taught the world how to be more united. It's imprint in pop culture signifies that it's ok to go online and express your ideas, and listen to other people's thoughts too. It's taught the world to really go after your interests, and inspires people to chase their dreams. I'm very thankful that I've found the usefulness of social media networking, and I'll always recommend it to others. It's taught me that there's a way to truly stay connected to the ones you love. It's also taught me that communication is everything. Whether you like it or not, social media does not seem to die down anytime soon.
