Why women are funny!

I've decided to do my first blog over the articles about why or why not women are funny. I found myself thinking about these articles long after i read them especially the article about how women aren't funny. i can't figure out if i was more upset at the fact that he thought women should just sit around and be pretty or the fact that he thought women weren't funny at all. In my opinion beauty can only take a person so far until someone gets bored with them. Personality can make a person prettier or uglier in the eyes on many people. Women need more than personality to make it. Humor is one thing a women has i believe that can win a man over. To say that prettier women should be funny and in the article i can recall him saying that the "hefty, dykey, and Jewish were the women that were most funny. I find that very insulting and to be very false because now in modern day the people who make the movies and sitcoms funny are women. For example Bridemaids is a hilarious movie with the lead actress being Kristen Wiig, a woman. Bridesmaids hit past 100 million at the box office. Babymama, another comedy with the lead as Tina Fey, was another hit movie that caught the eye of many. With so much evidence and so many women taking over in the world of humor its hard to believe that someone can honestly believe that women aren't funny. I do agree that many women may not think that grotesque things aren't funny as much as men , but there are many other things in this world to make jokes about other than disgusting things. Another reason that I believe this article was offensive in a way is because I think i am a funny person, not a comedian of course, but my humor is one reason that I can even have converse with some of the people I hang out with. No doubt about it that some women aren't funny, but Hitchens is definitely missing out on the tons of women who have a wonderful humor.
