Women: Are They Funny?
Women: can they be funny all the time or just when the situation is required? Or is it just the men’s job to be funny? These are the questions that are attempted to be answered in these two articles written in Vanity Fair in January of 2007 and April of 2008. These two are very conflicting articles. One says that women aren’t supposed to be funny because it is the man’s job; while the other says that funnier women are being discovered because the demand for funny men exceeds the supply of funny men.
The article written in 2007 says that you will never hear a man say that his main squeeze makes everyone laugh. The man usually needs to feel dominant in the humor department; according to the article anyway. However, in my opinion, I disagree with that article. Women can be very funny. It’s not about the joke that someone makes that makes me laugh. It is about how much I know about that person and how much their personality is like mine. A lot of my female friends are extremely funny to me because they can laugh at their own words and they can make jokes at their own expense. I like being able to laugh with them about the stupid things that happen in their life. Women can be funny if they wear modest cloths which will prevent men from looking at their body. If they wear much tied cloths then men would usually look at their body rather than listening to their jokes.
